Spring-area students who haven't signed up for fall classes yet can walk into Lone Star College-Montgomery on two upcoming Saturdays and get free, in-person help registering before the semester starts Aug. 24.

The college's "Avoid the Stampede Registration Saturdays" will run Saturday, Aug. 15, and Saturday, Aug. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the LSC-Montgomery Student Center. No appointment is needed. Walk-ins should arrive by 1:30 p.m.

Juan Lebron, vice president of student success at LSC-Montgomery, said in a statement carried by Woodlands Online that the events are meant to ease the back-to-school crunch. "We know starting college is a big step … We're ready to help you with the support you need to register for fall classes and to answer your questions in-person and in real time," Lebron said.

Beyond registration help, prospective students can tour the campus and learn about programs, Lebron added.

Fall 2026 classes begin Monday, Aug. 24, according to the LSC academic calendar. That gives students just nine days between the first Saturday session and the first day of class.

Students who can't make a Saturday session can still get registration assistance during the week: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

LSC is an open-enrollment institution with free applications. In-district tuition for the 2026-2027 year runs $111 per credit hour, putting a full-time 12-hour semester at $1,332. That compares to $5,559 at the University of Houston and $6,237 at Texas A&M for the same course load.

Lone Star College posted on X on Aug. 3 that fall registration is open across all campuses.

The campus awarded more than 2,150 degrees at its 2026 commencement, a record, according to the college's website.
