A woman crashed into a neighborhood sign on Normandy Forest Drive and was arrested for driving while intoxicated on Saturday, August 1, one of two enforcement actions by Harris County Precinct 4 deputies across Spring that day.

Constable Mark Herman's office said on X deputies took the adult female into custody following an investigation into the minor crash in the 20791 block of Normandy Forest Drive. The office has not released the suspect's name or confirmed formal charges.

Separately, deputies apprehended a hit-and-run suspect in the 17500 block of Harbourfront Road in the Merrylands subdivision on August 1. The office classified the incident as a "Fail to Stop and Give Information" case.

Deputies first announced the Merrylands investigation was underway before later confirming the suspect had been tracked down and taken into custody. No name or charges have been released for that suspect either.

Enforcement context

The Saturday arrests come days after Constable Mark Herman's office joined the MADD Southeast Texas Advisory Council on Wednesday, July 29. Herman has made impaired-driving enforcement a public priority this summer. In a July 19 statement about a separate DWI arrest on the North Freeway, Herman said: "If you choose to drive while intoxicated, you are putting lives at risk and will be held accountable."

The constable's office has not reported any injuries in either incident.
