A man who fled from a deputy constable in a Spring neighborhood early Wednesday, July 29, was captured about two and a half hours later after he entered a residence near Running Iron Drive.

The Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said on X that Corporal Aguilar made contact with a suspicious person near 24100 Running Iron Dr. around 1:51 a.m. The man took off running.

Deputies fanned out across the Running Iron Drive and Bullis Gap Drive area, alerting residents through social media to be aware of the active search while the operation unfolded in the dark. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a red shirt, green track pants, a black hat, and no shoes.

To track the man, deputies established a perimeter around the neighborhood and deployed a drone unit called Iceman to assist from the air.

The strategy worked.

By roughly 4:20 a.m., the constable's office posted an update confirming the suspect had been captured after entering a residence in the area. The post did not say whether anyone was inside the home at the time.

No name, charges, or details about what prompted Corporal Aguilar's initial contact have been publicly released. The constable's office has not disclosed what offense the man was suspected of or whether formal charges will follow.

The incident unfolded in a residential stretch of Spring served by Constable Mark Herman's Precinct 4 office. Both the initial alert and the capture update came from the office's official account during the overnight hours, reaching several hundred viewers before sunrise.
