A husband-and-wife team has opened an independent coffee shop on Rayford Road in Spring.
John and Violet Irias launched Jovi Roasters Café at 602 Rayford Road, Suite B, on Aug. 3, Community Impact reported. The family-owned café roasts 100% Arabica beans in-house on a weekly basis, according to a Foldetta Commercial listing for the property.
The beans come from growing regions across nine countries: Ethiopia, Colombia, Honduras, Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Kenya, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Customers can buy whole-bean or ground coffee by the pound in the shop.
Beyond the coffee bar, the pastry case features chocolate cake, alfajores, flan and cookies. The food menu lists empanadas, burritos and bagels sourced from other locally owned small businesses, Community Impact reported.
Jovi Roasters also sells wholesale coffee and private-label roasting services for restaurants, hotels and retailers, according to Foldetta Commercial. The brokerage described the Rayford Road address as a "new location" for the roasting business.
The café is open seven days a week. Hours listed on the Jovi Roasters website are Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The café's Facebook page lists different weekday hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The phone number is (346) 382-8213.
