An 18-year-old man was found dead in the driver's seat of a vehicle on Saturday, Aug. 22, in a Spring neighborhood, and the Harris County Sheriff's Office says the circumstances remain unclear.

Deputies responded to a disturbance call around 1:30 p.m. near the corner of Montclair Bend Lane and Tyneglen Lane, according to ABC13. When they arrived, they found the man unconscious with what officials described as "severe trauma." He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Harris County Precinct 3 deputies made the initial discovery. HCSO Crime Scene Investigators and Homicide detectives were called in to take over the case.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez confirmed the response on X, writing: "Pct 3 deputies responded to a disturbance call at Montclair Bend Ln and Tyneglen Lane. Upon arrival, units located an unconscious man inside a vehicle. The male was confirmed deceased on-scene. No other details at this time. @HCSOTexas CSI and Homicide detectives are responding."


No cause of death has been determined.

Investigators have not identified what caused the man's injuries. No witnesses have come forward, and no one in the neighborhood reported hearing gunshots, according to HCSO. No weapons were found inside the vehicle.

The victim has not been publicly identified. Officials said they are waiting on the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office to make that determination.

Deputies have been canvassing the neighborhood and searching for surveillance or doorbell camera footage that may have captured the incident. The investigation remains active.
