Spring High lost its district opener 31-28 to Dekaney on Friday, Sept. 25, at Planet Ford Stadium, as first reported by CW39 Houston.
The Lions fell by three points to a fellow Spring ISD school in a rivalry game that drew a FOX 26 "Friday Football Fever" broadcast to both campuses earlier in the day. Spring ISD posted that FOX 26 went live from Spring High at 6:41 a.m. and Dekaney High at 8:41 a.m. ahead of kickoff.
Spring entered district play after a non-district loss to Waller by at least 23 points, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Individual player statistics from the game were not available as of Sept. 26.
Klein Collins shuts out Klein Forest 49-0 in District 15-6A
The Klein Collins Tigers blanked Klein Forest 49-0 in a District 15-6A matchup on Friday, Sept. 25.
The shutout pushed Klein Collins to 4-1 on the season. Head coach Adrian Mitchell's squad entered the game at 3-1 after a 42-35 win over Magnolia on Sept. 19. The Tigers' only loss came in Week 2 against Willis, 38-28.
Mitchell led the Tigers to an 11-2 record and a Regional Semifinal appearance in 2025, according to a VYPE preseason preview of District 15-6A. The Tigers returned only six starters from that squad heading into 2026.
Klein Forest finished 2-8 in 2025 and entered the season carrying a 16-year playoff drought, per the same VYPE preview. The Golden Eagles fell 49-0 in their district opener.
