CorkScrew BBQ in Spring earned a spot on a statewide "Texas' Best Food and Drink of 2026" barbecue list, according to a Patch newsletter published Oct. 29.
The Patch digest reported that the reader-voted awards, published Oct. 27 on NewsBreak, spotlight barbecue restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops and breweries across the state. CorkScrew BBQ was named among the barbecue winners.
Owners Will and Nichole Buckman run the smokehouse at 26608 Keith St. A permanent location opened in November 2011 at 24930 Budde Road.
The menu features brisket, turkey and sandwiches, including the Whole Hog, which combines sausage, ribs and pulled pork. The restaurant says on its website that all meats, sides and sauces are made in-house and MSG-free.
The recognition adds to a year of accolades for the Spring smokehouse. CorkScrew BBQ earned a Michelin star in 2024 and retained that one-star distinction in the 2026 Michelin Guide Texas selection announced Oct. 8, DiningOut reported. It was one of six Houston-area restaurants to hold onto a star, alongside BCN Taste & Tradition, Le Jardinier, March, Musaafer and Tatemó.
On the restaurant's website, the Buckmans describe the past 15 years as "blessed beyond our wildest dreams" and say happy customers remain their "highest achievement."
Texas now has 149 restaurants in the Michelin Guide, including 19 one-star establishments, according to DiningOut.
