Dekaney held Alief Elsik scoreless Thursday, Sept. 3, winning 3-0 at Planet Ford Stadium for the Wildcats' first victory of the season.

Neither team found the end zone. Dekaney's defense dominated a game that ended with the lowest score on CW39 Houston's statewide Week 2 scoreboard. The win evens out a rough start after the Wildcats fell 28-15 at Fulshear on Aug. 27.

Klein Forest falls 46-13 to Humble

Klein Forest's Thursday went the other direction. Humble piled up 46 points against the Golden Eagles in a 46-13 home loss that drops Klein Forest to 0-2 after a 20-16 defeat at Eisenhower in Week 1.

The Golden Eagles entered 2026 trying to snap a 16-year playoff drought after finishing 2-8 in 2025. They returned 10 starters from that squad, according to VYPE Houston's preseason District 15-6A preview. Senior running back Dejaune Etheridge, who posted 1,369 yards of total offense last fall, leads the backfield. Quarterback Jaylen Williams and senior wide receiver Kenyon Davis run the passing game, while senior defensive lineman Marc Bennett anchors the front seven.

Through two weeks, the early returns have been rough.

Klein Forest has been outscored 66-29 across its first two games. VYPE ranked the Golden Eagles last in its preseason District 15-6A projections.
