Two drivers face racing charges after a Montgomery County Precinct 3 deputy caught them speeding past 100 mph on I-45 in Spring on Tuesday evening.

The deputy observed a white Ford two-door and a white Dodge four-door traveling southbound near I-45 and Pruitt Road around 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, according to Hello Woodlands, citing Precinct 3 Constable Ryan Gable's office. The two vehicles had positioned themselves side by side before accelerating to speeds over 100 mph.

With assistance from the Oak Ridge Police Department, deputies stopped both vehicles.

Luis Enriquez of Houston and Miguel Erazo of Spring were each arrested for racing on a highway. Both were transported to the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office jail.

At least one of the vehicles was towed from the scene, according to the constable's office. The original release used the singular "vehicle" in describing the tow, leaving it unclear whether both cars were impounded.

No bond amounts or court dates were available as of Wednesday, Sept. 9, when the constable's office released details of the arrests.
