Five Spring-area restaurants will donate a portion of their sales to regional food banks starting Saturday, August 1, as Houston Restaurant Weeks returns for its 23rd year.

The annual dining event runs through Monday, September 7. Diners order from special prix fixe menus, and restaurants donate between $1 and $5 per meal sold. Diners pay nothing extra. The restaurant makes the donation from its own sales.

Wunsche Bros Cafe & Saloon, the Old Town Spring landmark at 103 Midway St., is offering a $55 dinner menu featuring American, Southern, and seafood dishes. Walk-ins are welcome. The restaurant can be reached at (281) 250-2233.

Four other Spring-address restaurants are also participating, according to Hello Woodlands:

  • Fielding's Local, 26400 Kuykendahl Road — lunch ($25) and dinner ($55). Walk-ins welcome.
  • Phat Eatery, 2290 Buckthorne Place — dinner ($39). Reservations required.
  • rise Soufflé, 26435 Kuykendahl Road — dinner ($55). Walk-ins welcome.
  • Xalisko Cocina Mexicana, 1335 Lake Woodlands Dr. — dinner ($55). Walk-ins welcome.

Each $55 dinner generates a $5 donation, enough to provide 15 meals through the food bank. A $39 dinner donates $3 (nine meals), and a $25 lunch donates $1 (three meals).

Donations from restaurants in Harris County go to the Houston Food Bank, while those in Montgomery County go to the Montgomery County Food Bank, according to event organizers.

The event raised more than $1.6 million in 2025, Community Impact reported. Since its founding in 2003 by the late Cleverley Stone, Houston Restaurant Weeks has generated more than $23 million for the Houston Food Bank, providing over 70 million meals to food-insecure Houstonians. Katie Stone, Cleverley Stone's daughter and president of the Cleverley Stone Foundation, now produces the event.

More than 350 restaurants across Greater Houston are expected to participate this year, according to event organizers. Diners can browse menus and check reservation requirements at houstonrestaurantweeks.com.
