FUNBOX, the inflatable park operator, plans to build a roughly 20,000-square-foot indoor play facility at 1457 Spring Cypress Road inside Northland Shopping Center.
A Texas construction filing shows the project carries an estimated build-out cost of $430,000, My Neighborhood News reported Sept. 15. Work is scheduled to begin Oct. 12 and wrap up Jan. 15, 2027. Those dates reflect the construction timeline, not a confirmed opening date. FUNBOX has not announced when the park will welcome guests.
The Spring Cypress Road location would be FUNBOX's second permanent park in the Houston area. Real estate representatives previously confirmed the company leased about 19,950 square feet at Northland Shopping Center, closely matching the 20,000 square feet listed in the state filing.
How the parks work
FUNBOX parks are built around connected inflatable play zones, not individual bounce houses. Children and adults climb, bounce, slide and work through challenges in one continuous environment. The concept includes timed jumping sessions, birthday party rooms and arcade games at the company's existing locations.
Adults can play, too. Founder and CEO Antonio Nieves described the brand in a My Neighborhood News interview in August 2025, ahead of the Copperfield Crossing opening: "It's designed with a kid-first, social-media-second vibe, and it's a blast for all ages … yes, adults can bounce too."
The company's first permanent Houston-area park opened Aug. 22, 2025, at 15540 FM 529 in the Copperfield Crossing area. Before that, FUNBOX operated temporary outdoor pop-ups at Katy Mills and West Oaks Mall.

FUNBOX describes itself as the world's largest inflatable park operator, with locations across the United States, Spain, Mexico, Canada and France. Nieves, who grew up with nine younger siblings in the foster care system, founded the company in Southern California in 2018.
The brand has tied its expansion to foster-care outreach. In 2025, FUNBOX launched the Futures for Foster Youth initiative to provide essentials for young women aging out of the system.
