Girl Scout Troop 214088 got a behind-the-scenes look at local law enforcement Saturday, Aug. 15, when deputies at Constable Mark Herman's Precinct 4 office in Spring welcomed the young scouts for a community visit.

The deputies rolled out the welcome mat.

Herman's office, which serves north Harris County and describes itself as the largest constable's office in the United States, announced the visit on X, noting that deputies welcomed Girl Scout Troop 214088 from the San Jacinto Council. The office posted photos from the event.

The troop belongs to the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council, one of the largest councils in the country with more than 35,000 girl members across 26 southeast Texas counties.

The visit came during a busy stretch of community outreach for Precinct 4. Deputies also assisted with school dismissal safety during the first week of the 2026-27 school year starting Wednesday, Aug. 12, and joined a back-to-school event with fire and EMS crews on Sunday, Aug. 9.

The San Jacinto Council held its Membership Kickoff 2026 the same day as the troop's visit, running from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The council's annual Success to Significance fundraising luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 22, with sponsorships available to support Girl Scout programs across Southeast Texas.
