Texas Master Chorale brings 2026-27 concerts to Spring's Centrum

The Texas Master Chorale is moving all three concerts of its 2026-27 season to Spring, performing at The Centrum at Cypress Creek Christian Community Center on Cypresswood Drive.

The 100-voice ensemble, founded in 1986, announced the venue change in an Aug. 6 press release published by Hello Woodlands. The season, titled "Spirit and Song," brings a mix of gospel, classical and holiday repertoire to the 877-seat auditorium starting in October.

The Centrum, at 6823 Cypresswood Drive, was purpose-built for live performance. Architect Clovis Heimsath designed the hall with a high wooden ceiling, arches and tiered wooden risers that can hold up to 210 standing singers plus a 65-piece orchestra. After taking on several feet of water during Hurricane Harvey, the venue was rebuilt with a new sound system, LED lighting, video wall and assistive listening system, according to the Cypress Creek Christian Community Center's website.

The campus itself serves more than one million residents of northwest Harris County and houses over 110 community nonprofit organizations.

The season lineup

All three concerts begin at 7:30 p.m.:

Saturday, Oct. 24 — "Ye Shall Have a Song," featuring Robert Ray's "Gospel Mass" and a portion of Randall Thompson's "Peaceable Kingdom"
Saturday, Dec. 19 — "A Season of Wonder," the annual Christmas concert with traditional carols. Students from Tomball High School Chorale join the program.
Saturday, April 3, 2027 — "Triumph and Peace," featuring Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms" and Haydn's "Lord Nelson Mass"

Tickets and parking

Tickets cost $30 and are available now at TexasMasterChorale.org, by phone at (281) 440-4850, or at the door. Students get in free with a school I.D. Complimentary valet parking is available at every performance.

In its Aug. 6 announcement, the chorale said the venue change reflects its growth. The Texas Commission on the Arts sponsors the ensemble.
