A dance studio with nearly three decades of history in the Houston area has opened a second Spring location, adding jazz, tap, ballet and hip-hop classes to the Sawdust Road corridor.

In-Step Dance Center began offering classes at 314 Sawdust Road, Suite 200, in August, according to Community Impact Newspaper. The studio, directed by owner Dana Loving Sparks, was founded in 1999 and is entering its 28th season.

Registration is open.

The Sawdust Road studio serves students ages 2 through adults, according to Community Impact, though the studio's Instagram page lists classes starting at 18 months for the 2026–2027 dance season. Styles include jazz, tap, ballet and hip-hop, with adult classes currently offered in tap and hip-hop.

The location also features a daytime homeschool dance program, a draw for families seeking structured arts instruction outside traditional after-school hours. Sparks describes the studio's philosophy as building dancers through technique, discipline and joy, according to the studio's website.

In-Step also operates a location at 28533 Spring Trails Ridge, Suite 200, in Spring.

The opening marks the second youth-focused activity studio to arrive in Spring the week of Aug. 25. A Dominique Dawes gymnastics academy also opened on Aug. 26, giving families in the area two new options for structured youth programming in the same stretch of days.

Families interested in enrolling can browse class schedules and register through the studio's website at instepdancecenter.com.
