Klein Collins lost 71-21 to Klein on Friday, Oct. 30, dropping the Tigers to 5-4 overall and 4-3 in District 15-6A play.

The defeat was the third straight for Klein Collins, according to MaxPreps. The Tigers sit in fifth place in the district with one regular-season game left.

That game is everything. Klein Collins travels to Klein Oak on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m. in a matchup that will decide the fourth and final playoff spot out of District 15-6A, according to SportCast Media.

Klein (9-1, 7-1) has already clinched the district championship, SportCast Media reported. The Bearkats scored 71 points against Klein Collins after putting up 60 in a Week 9 win over Magnolia West, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Klein Collins opened the season 5-1 but has not won since an Oct. 3 victory over Klein Cain. Losses to Tomball, Magnolia West and now Klein have put the Tigers' postseason in jeopardy.

The Tigers reached the regional semifinal round in 2025 with an 11-2 record, according to a preseason preview from VYPE.

Westfield rolls past Dekaney

Across town, Westfield beat Dekaney 35-10 on Oct. 30 to stay perfect in District 14-6A at 5-0, according to MaxPreps.

The Mustangs improved to 7-2 overall and extended their winning streak to six games. Westfield has allowed just 54 total points across nine games this season.

The win over Dekaney continued a dominant stretch of district play. Westfield has outscored its five district opponents by a combined 226-22, according to MaxPreps schedule results.

Westfield hosts MacArthur on Friday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. to close the regular season. A win would give the Mustangs an undefeated district record heading into the playoffs.
