Klein Collins and Klein Oak meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Klein Memorial Stadium with a playoff berth on the line.

The winner takes the fourth and final postseason spot out of District 15-6A. Klein, Tomball and Magnolia have already clinched, according to the Houston Chronicle. That leaves Klein Collins (5-4, 4-3) and Klein Oak (5-4, 5-2) to settle it head-to-head.

The game will air live on the Space City Houston alternate channel as the season finale of the VYPE Thursday Night Showdown.

What's at stake for Klein Collins

The Tigers have not missed the playoffs since 2013. Head coach Adrian Mitchell has led eight consecutive postseason appearances, the Houston Chronicle reported. A loss ends that streak.

Klein Collins will need to shake off its most lopsided defeat of the season. District champion Klein beat the Tigers 71-21 in Week 10, handing Klein Collins its third straight loss.

The Tigers still rank as the No. 3 offense in the district at 412.6 yards per game, per the Chronicle. Running backs Da'Marcus Jones and Tyce Hudson anchor a ground attack averaging 227.3 yards per outing. Senior quarterback Brylon Jefferson is third in the district with 1,571 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and four interceptions.

Defensively, Klein Collins ranks sixth in the district, allowing 365.8 yards per game. The unit has forced 15 takeaways, including nine interceptions.

Klein Oak's surge

Klein Oak started the season 1-4 but has won four straight, including a 55-0 rout of Magnolia West in Week 10. The Panthers are seeking their first playoff berth since 2024.

Stopping the run will be Klein Collins' biggest challenge. Klein Oak leads the district with 294.1 rushing yards per game. Four-star Texas commit Micah Rhodes is second in the district with 1,043 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns.

Junior quarterback Christian Crooms threw for 215 yards and four touchdowns in the Magnolia West win. On defense, senior linebacker Zack Ruysenaars is second in the district with 104 total tackles, 21 for loss and seven sacks.
