Recent crashes on the corridor
The fatal wreck is the latest in a series of major crashes along the Grand Parkway corridor through the Spring area this month.
Harris County Constable Precinct 4 reported a major two-vehicle crash at Grand Parkway and Kuykendahl Road on Aug. 2. Three days later, on Aug. 5, the constable's office said an SUV struck a sedan on the eastbound feeder of the Grand Parkway near Spring Stuebner Road. Deputies and emergency crews responded to yet another major crash at Grand Parkway and Spring Stuebner Road on Aug. 9.
That amounts to four significant wrecks on the same stretch of highway in less than four weeks.
The Grand Parkway, also designated State Highway 99, is a major commuter route through northwest Harris County, connecting Spring-area neighborhoods to employment centers and Interstate 45. The segment near Longenbaugh Road carries heavy traffic from residential developments west of the freeway.
The sheriff's office has not released additional details about Monday's crash or indicated when more information might be available. The investigation is ongoing.
