Reynolds Elementary has a new front facade, fresh flooring and rebuilt parking areas after a round of bond-funded construction finished before the 2026-27 school year began.

The Spring ISD campus also received new paint and renovated restrooms, the district announced on X on Tuesday, Sept. 1. The new facade features a tribute to the school's Armadillos mascot. The work is part of the 2022 Bond Program, an approximately $850 million package voters approved in November 2022.

Reynolds Elementary serves about 802 students in pre-K through fifth grade.

More projects are still ahead. Spring ISD said upcoming bond work at the campus includes a new canopy, soccer fields, cafeteria flooring and campus-wide furniture replacement. No completion date for those projects has been announced.

The improvements build on earlier upgrades already in place. A February 2026 district bond update noted that Reynolds Elementary students were already using an improved science lab and library, both with new furniture. The library also received a new makerspace.

At that point, bathroom renovations and site work, including a new drop-off and pick-up line, were still in the planning and procurement stage. Construction was anticipated to start during the summer. A June 3 Spring ISD post confirmed that campus improvements at Reynolds Elementary were "moving full speed ahead."

That timeline appears to have held. The rebuilt drives and parking areas announced Sept. 1 align with the drop-off and pick-up line work described in February. Marquee installation at Reynolds Elementary and Heritage Elementary also began earlier in 2026, according to the February update.

Gary Hutton, Spring ISD's general manager of operations, said in the February bond update that the district owes voters accountability. "Above everything else, I want the community to know they are getting exactly what they paid for," Hutton said.

The district has not disclosed how much of the $850 million bond is allocated specifically to Reynolds Elementary. The broader program covers safety and security upgrades, technology improvements, transportation needs and major construction, including a new Spring High School campus at 630 Riley Fuzzel Road.

Reynolds Elementary's next round of bond projects, including the canopy, soccer fields and new cafeteria flooring, does not yet have a public timeline.
