A new specialty food boutique stocked with imported olive oils, vinegars and gourmet pantry staples opened its doors on Gentry Street in Old Town Spring.
The Oil Reserve, at 219 Gentry St., Space E, sells cooking oils sourced from around the world alongside cooking sauces, pasta mixes, fermented black garlic, spices and dry goods, according to Community Impact Spring-Klein. The shop also carries cutting and serving boards, cooking utensils and other kitchen accessories.
The business owners confirmed the opening in a social media post, Community Impact reported.
Robert Franklin is listed as the store's owner on its Facebook page, which describes The Oil Reserve as a specialty food boutique carrying imported olive oils, vinegars and goods from around the world. The page had drawn 87 likes and 195 people talking about the business as of early August.
The shop is open now.
It sits in the heart of Old Town Spring's retail corridor on Gentry Street, surrounded by specialty shops, boutiques and food-and-drink establishments. The historic district, which traces its roots to the 1800s as a railroad hub, now features more than 100 locally owned businesses. The Oil Reserve adds a dedicated gourmet food retail option to that mix, giving local cooks and gift-seekers a new stop for imported pantry staples and kitchen tools in a single storefront.
The store's website, theoilreserve.com, was not yet publicly accessible as of Aug. 5. Shoppers looking for hours and event information can find The Oil Reserve on Facebook or call (832) 446-4447.
