CLC Church in Spring plans to distribute Thanksgiving meal boxes to 200 families on Saturday, Nov. 21. Northwest Assistance Ministries has scheduled a separate holiday drive beginning Dec. 6.

The two programs give Spring-area residents a chance to donate, volunteer or seek help as the holiday season approaches, according to a roundup first reported by My Neighborhood News.

CLC Church Thanksgiving Outreach

Champion Life Church, a Spring congregation since 1973, is collecting nonperishable food at its building at 3031 FM 2920 Road. Items requested for the meal boxes include stuffing or cornbread mix, instant potatoes, macaroni and cheese, canned corn, green beans, cranberry sauce, gravy, boxed cakes, canned icing and a disposable turkey pan.

Donations can be dropped off at the church's Next Steps booth in the front lobby or at Life Groups gatherings. Monetary contributions are also accepted. The deadline to donate is Wednesday, Nov. 18.

Volunteers will pack boxes and hand out meals from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 21. Residents who want to help can sign up through the church's Thanksgiving Outreach registration page.

Families interested in receiving a meal should contact the church directly. Questions go to Andrea Williams at [email protected].
