Spring High dropped its Week 6 district game 42-6 to Westfield on Friday, Oct. 2, at Planet Ford Stadium.

The Lions fell behind early and never recovered against the Mustangs in the District 14-6A matchup. Spring managed just one score in the loss, and the 36-point margin left the Lions searching for answers heading into a schedule gap.

Spring never threatened.

The Lions' schedule shows no game listed for the week of Oct. 8-10, suggesting a bye. Spring returns to action Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. against Nimitz at Planet Ford Stadium.

Klein dominates Klein Forest

In District 15-6A, Klein rolled to a 52-0 shutout of Klein Forest on Friday. The Bearkats, playing under interim head coach David Perez, piled up points against a Golden Eagles program stuck in a playoff drought stretching 16 years, according to VYPE Houston's preseason district preview.

Klein Forest had already absorbed a 49-0 loss to Klein Collins earlier in district play, according to a Yahoo Sports preview of the Week 6 slate. Friday's result continued a punishing stretch for the Golden Eagles.

Klein Oak falls to Magnolia

Klein Oak also came up short Friday, falling 17-7 to Magnolia in another 15-6A contest, according to CW39 Houston's scoreboard. The Panthers managed just one score in the loss.

Klein Cain, Klein Collins still unfinished

The marquee District 15-6A matchup between Klein Cain and Klein Collins never reached a final Friday. The game, originally scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 1, was suspended due to weather with Klein Cain leading 14-7, according to SI.com. It was set to resume Saturday, Oct. 3.

Both teams entered the week on a tear. Klein Collins came in 4-1 overall and 3-0 in district, averaging 52.3 points per game in league play. Klein Cain arrived 4-0 overall and 2-0 in district, averaging 50 points per game and carrying a No. 25 ranking in the Class 6A state poll from Dave Campbell's Texas Football and the Associated Press.

The outcome of that suspended game will shape the top of the 15-6A standings heading into the second half of district play.
