The Spring Fire Department placed donation boxes at all nine of its fire stations, collecting new unwrapped toys and nonperishable food for families in need during the holidays.

The department announced the drive Saturday, Oct. 17, on X, asking residents to "help us help those in our community who need a hand up during the holidays." The post did not list a deadline for donations.

Residents can drop off items at any of the nine stations, which are staffed around the clock. The department's coverage-area page lists the following locations:

  • Station 70: 22306 Springwoods Village Parkway
  • Station 71: 646 E. Louetta Road
  • Station 72: 23000 Northcrest Drive
  • Station 73: 4923 Treaschwig Road
  • Station 74: 23803 Aldine Westfield Road
  • Station 75: 3975 FM 2920
  • Station 76: 8407 London Way Drive
  • Station 77: 2900 Cypresswood Drive
  • Station 78: 1225 Booker Road

The department's administrative office is at 656 E. Louetta Road, near Station 71.

All nine stations sit within the department's 62-square-mile territory in northern unincorporated Harris County. The boundaries run roughly from FM 2978 and Kuykendahl Road on the west to Spring Creek on the north, Cypress Creek on the south and where the two creeks meet to the east, according to the department's website.

The holiday collection is a longstanding tradition. In 2019, the effort raised nearly 4,000 pounds of food and 2,800 toys for families in need, according to the department's history page. The Spring Fire Department, founded in 1953, is one of the largest combination fire departments in Harris County.

The department has not announced how collected items will be distributed or which organizations may partner in the effort.
