Spring residents can mark two events on the fall calendar. A music-driven 5K comes to City Place on Sept. 26, and the Mercury Chamber Orchestra performs at The Centrum on Oct. 13.

Free 5K at City Place

City Place Plaza will host the Popsyfit Run & Rave on Sept. 26, a 5K pairing fitness with live music. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive in Spring.

Admission is free. The run will feature a live DJ, cold plunges, wellness activations, giveaways, vendors and complimentary refreshments, according to an events listing from Community Impact. Registration details are available at cityplacenow.com.

Mercury Chamber Orchestra at The Centrum

The Mercury Chamber Orchestra performs at The Centrum, 6823 Cypresswood Drive, on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. The concert is part of Cypress Creek F.A.C.E.'s 30th anniversary season.

Cypress Creek F.A.C.E., the Foundation for the Arts and Community Enrichment, began in 1997 as The Centrum was being developed and has presented concerts and arts programming there since. Bob Schefferine, the organization's executive director, said in an Aug. 17 announcement that the milestone season "reflects everything that makes F.A.C.E. special—nationally recognized artists, meaningful arts education, and the shared experience of live performance bringing people together right here in Northwest Houston."

Mercury was founded in 2000 as a chamber ensemble that performs on period instruments, according to the Cypress Creek F.A.C.E. website. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, $12 for children and students, and $12 for groups of six or more. Single tickets went on sale Aug. 1.

More fall events in the Spring-Klein area

The same Community Impact roundup lists several other events through mid-October, including free dental care for military members, veterans, first responders and their families from Texas Star Dental. No date or location has been confirmed for that event.

Stage Works Theatre presents "Jekyll & Hyde The Musical" Sept. 18 through Oct. 11 at 10760 Grant Road in Houston. Tickets range from $29 to $50. Playhouse 1960 stages "Clue ON STAGE" Sept. 18–20 at 6814 Gant Road in Houston, with tickets from $25 to $28.
