Spring-Klein families have three fall events lined up on consecutive October Saturdays, starting with a free pumpkin-decorating festival at Dennis Johnston Park on Oct. 3.
Harris County Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom S. Ramsey is hosting the Happy Fall Y'all Fest at the park, 709 Riley Fuzzel Road, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event is free and will feature arts and crafts, pumpkin decorating, face painting, temporary tattoos and family photo opportunities, according to the Precinct 3 commissioner's office. Constable Mark Herman promoted the fest on X, inviting families to join Ramsey at the park.
The following Saturday, Oct. 10, City Place brings back its outdoor movie series with a screening of "Hocus Pocus" (PG, 1993) at 8 p.m. on the plaza at 1250 Lake Plaza Drive. The "Pix on The Plaza" series screened "Encanto" on Sept. 19. Attendees can bring blankets.
Two weeks later, Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church holds its annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 17, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 18511 Klein Church Road.
Entry is free. Food and game tickets cost $1 each. The festival includes food booths, a silent auction and crafts, Community Impact Newspaper reported.
Community Impact's roundup, published Monday, Sept. 28, also listed four additional October events in the Spring-Klein area without confirmed dates or times: an Edgar Allan Poe Tea and Story Time reading, a Sip & Paint Girls Night Out pumpkin painting event at Common Place, a pumpkin painting session at Beans & Brews Coffeehouse and a Trunk or Treat at Building Kidz School of North Houston. Residents interested in those events should check with the organizers for scheduling details.
