A 2017 Toyota Tacoma stolen from the HEB parking lot near the 3500 block of Rayford Road has been recovered in Houston, and two men are in the Montgomery County Jail facing felony charges.

The Montgomery County Auto Theft Task Force responded to the theft report on Tuesday, Aug. 18, according to a press release published Wednesday, Aug. 19, by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office. Investigators reviewed HEB security camera footage and identified a black Cadillac CT5 linked to the suspects.

That vehicle led them to Josue Zamarron, 29, and Alberth Mosquera, 26, both of Houston.

Through a coordinated effort with the Montgomery County Precinct 3 Constable's Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Houston Police Department Auto Theft Task Force, investigators located the stolen Tacoma in Houston and took both men into custody without incident.

Zamarron and Mosquera were booked on charges of Theft of a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Criminal Instruments.

Second warrant ties Zamarron to earlier Tacoma theft

Zamarron also had an outstanding arrest warrant from a separate stolen-Tacoma case dated Monday, Aug. 10. That's eight days before the HEB theft.

The press release did not specify where that earlier theft occurred or provide additional details about that investigation.

The Sheriff's Office credited the Precinct 3 Constable's Office, DPS and the Houston Police Department Auto Theft Task Force for their assistance in recovering the vehicle and making the arrests.
