Klein ISD's 4,300 graduates walked away with $115.3 million in scholarships this spring, shattering the district's previous record by more than $30 million.

The district announced the milestone Aug. 6 on X, crediting student achievement across academics, arts and athletics. The prior record, set by the Class of 2025, was approximately $85 million.

That works out to roughly $26,800 per graduate across Klein ISD's five high schools: Klein Collins, Klein Cain, Klein Oak, Klein High and Klein Forest.

Board celebrated the record in June

The Klein ISD Board of Trustees acknowledged the scholarship haul at its June 8 regular meeting, according to board minutes. Board President Doug James and all six fellow trustees were present. Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown joined the board in celebrating the achievement alongside the district's top finishers at the State UIL Track and Field meet.

The district did not release a per-school breakdown showing how much each campus contributed to the total.

1,618 seniors honored at CTE Signing Day

The scholarship figure captures only one slice of post-graduation readiness. In May, Klein ISD honored 1,618 seniors at its annual Career and Technical Education Signing Day. Those students had already secured job offers, college acceptances in their field, military commitments or industry certifications before receiving their diplomas, according to the district's CTE announcement.

Klein ISD also earned its 15th consecutive Best Communities for Music Education designation from the NAMM Foundation in 2026, its 19th such honor overall.

What's next for families

The 2026-2027 school year begins Wednesday, Aug. 12. As we reported Aug. 6, families still need to complete the Annual Enrollment Update, which closes Friday, Aug. 7. Klein ISD serves 51,236 students across 50 campuses in Harris County.
