A new specialty food boutique stocked with imported olive oils, vinegars and gourmet pantry staples opened its doors on Gentry Street in Old Town Spring.

The Oil Reserve, at 219 Gentry St., Space E, is owned and operated by a group of four friends, as we reported in August. The historic district, which traces its roots to the 1800s as a railroad hub, now features more than 100 locally owned businesses. The Oil Reserve adds a dedicated gourmet food retail option to that mix, giving local cooks and gift-seekers a new stop for imported pantry staples and kitchen tools in a single storefront. A grand opening celebration was held with tastings and a ribbon cutting.
