Spring High's homecoming night delivered on both sides of the celebration Oct. 22, with the Lions beating Aldine Nimitz 27-17 and the school crowning its 2026 Homecoming Court at Planet Ford Stadium.
Spring ISD said the evening featured "a big win on the football field" alongside the court announcement, describing a night of energy, pride and school spirit in a post on X. The district did not name the Homecoming King, Queen or court members in the post.
As we reported Oct. 23, the 27-17 result gave the Lions their second district win of the season. The victory moved Spring to 3-5 overall and 2-3 in District 14-6A, according to MaxPreps.
The win snapped a two-game skid. Spring had fallen to Dekaney 31-28 on Sept. 25, lost to Westfield 42-6 on Oct. 2, then beat Eisenhower 29-20 on Oct. 8 before dropping a 31-23 overtime game to MacArthur on Oct. 15. The Nimitz result gave the Lions a 1-game winning streak heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.
Spring has scored 177 points this season and allowed 252. The Lions opened the year with a 40-27 win at Channelview on Aug. 28 but lost three of their next four, including a 44-24 defeat to Cypress Lakes and a 40-0 shutout loss to Waller.
The Lions travel to Benjamin Davis on Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m. for a district game. Spring closes the regular season at home against Aldine on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.
