A new farmers market opens Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Klein area of Spring, giving local vendors and families a recurring place to shop and connect.
The Klein Farmers Market will hold its grand opening at Memorial Baptist Church, 22333 Kuykendahl Road, as Community Impact first reported. After the launch, the market will run every first and third Saturday of each month from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Jessica Wilcox, the market's founder and owner of Spring-based small business Wander Stamped, said she started the project after watching local vendors struggle to find reliable spots at nearby markets. The market's website describes those markets as "oversaturated or extremely competitive," according to Community Impact's reporting.
Wilcox said she wanted to build a "community-focused space" for vendors who had not found a "consistent market home." The market plans to feature local farmers, ranchers, food producers, bakers, artisans and small businesses, according to Community Impact.
Early arrivals at the grand opening can pick up a limited-edition reusable tote bag stuffed with coupons, samples and special offers from local businesses, Community Impact reported.
Vendors interested in joining the market or residents looking for details can visit kleinfarmersmarket.square.site.
That is the market's only announced location so far. No vendor list or count for opening day has been released.
