Klein Collins High School jumped five points in one year to earn a 93 and an A rating from the Texas Education Agency, part of a district-wide surge that pushed Klein ISD to an overall score of 88 in the state's 2026 accountability ratings released Thursday, Aug. 13.
All five improved.
Every one of the district's comprehensive high schools raised its score, and all five earned an A in College, Career and Military Readiness. Four of the five earned an overall A rating.
For the roughly 3,300 students at Klein Collins as of the 2023-24 school year, the jump from 88 to 93 means the campus now ranks alongside Klein High (94) and Klein Oak (94) at the top of the district. Klein Cain matched Collins at 93, up six points from last year's 87.
"I could not be more proud of what our dedicated educators and support staff, engaged families, and hardworking students continue to achieve by working together," Superintendent Dr. Jenny McGown said in the district's announcement.
The 88 overall marks an eight-point climb from the 80 Klein ISD scored in 2023, when TEA reset its accountability system with tougher academic standards. The gains are notable because the post-reset benchmarks are not directly comparable to earlier, less rigorous ratings.
Klein ISD also outperformed both the region and the state in meeting grade-level expectations across all tested subjects, according to the district. The district improved in all three major accountability domains: student achievement, academic growth and relative performance.

Klein Forest's eight-point leap was the largest single-school gain in the district, though it fell one point short of an A.
McGown credited the persistence and collective effort of staff and families and the district's commitment to challenging every student. She called the CCMR results "incredibly significant" because they reflect both current achievement and future preparedness for the district's more than 53,000 students.
