A driver was trapped inside a vehicle after a major crash in the 15300 block of Mason Road in Spring Monday morning.
Harris County Constable Precinct 4, posted a traffic alert at 8:45 a.m. reporting that deputies were on scene and one driver was entrapped. The office said no life-threatening injuries had been reported at that time.
The alert included a photo of the crash scene but did not describe what caused the collision, how many vehicles were involved or whether Mason Road was closed to traffic while deputies worked the scene. Precinct 4 had not posted a follow-up as of Monday morning.
The crash is the second on Mason Road in less than a week. On Aug. 6, Precinct 4 deputies worked a separate two-vehicle crash at Cypresswood Drive and Mason Road that temporarily shut down southbound Mason Road and the westbound lanes of Cypresswood Drive.
Monday's incident also marks the second time in roughly two weeks that a driver has been trapped inside a vehicle following a crash in the Spring area. On July 30, one occupant was pinned inside a vehicle after a head-on crash in the 11700 block of Boudreaux Road near Jane Lane and had to be extricated by emergency crews, according to Precinct 4.
The 15300 block of Mason Road sits in a stretch between Louetta Road and Cypresswood Drive that carries heavy commuter traffic during morning hours. Precinct 4 serves north Harris County, including the Spring and Klein communities.
As we reported Monday, Precinct 4 has deployed extra deputies this week for a traffic enforcement crackdown across north Harris County. It was not clear whether any of those additional patrols were in the area at the time of the Mason Road crash.
